Mysterious Machu Picchu

Photographer: Martin Voet
Country: United States

"The photo was taken at Machu Picchu high in the Peruvian mountains in the summer of 2006.  The llama, an area local, happened to wander into the frame and was the perfect accent to the awesome scene."

This photo is from today's Kodak Picture of the Day.

Comment: This is a superb capture. The lighting and detail are perfect and the combination of the llama and the ancient ruins is timeless. Congratulations on your well-deserved pick as Kodak photo of the month.

Comment: Too many landscape images lack an element of 'story'. The Llama stands in as the mystical storyteller. I wonder what he/she'd tell us...

Comment: 7/1 picture is good-the pics of one's kids and stuff like that are ridiculous and uninteresting
